Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a fast-growing entity in the industrial services sector, requires a proficient Industrial Electrician for project-based work in and around Centurion, Gauteng, ZA . This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within industrial facilities. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, from wiring new installations to troubleshooting complex electrical issues, contributing significantly to the operational continuity of our client's projects. The ideal candidate possesses a strong electrical background, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic project environment. This is a contract position offering flexibility and the chance to work on diverse industrial applications within the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, power distribution units, control panels, and machinery wiring.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Perform routine inspections and diagnostic tests to identify electrical faults and potential hazards.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with South African National Standards (SANS) and relevant safety regulations.
• Wire and connect new equipment, control systems, and lighting installations.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Assist in the commissioning of new electrical installations and systems.
• Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed, including materials used and time spent.
• Adhere to all on-site safety procedures and promote a culture of safety awareness.
• Liaise with project managers and site supervisors regarding electrical project progress and any encountered issues in Centurion and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a recognized trade qualification (e.g., Wireman's License).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician.
• Proven experience with industrial electrical systems, motor controls, VSDs, and PLCs.
• Ability to read and understand complex electrical diagrams and schematics.
