Job summary

Placements24 in Upington is recruiting for an Apprentice Industrial Electrician. The program provides hands-on experience in installation, maintenance and repair of industrial electrical systems under experienced electricians.

You will learn to read schematics, perform basic tests, and work safely in a demanding environment, with a clear path to a recognized qualification and ongoing salary reviews.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or equivalent qualification, with Mathematics and Physical Science preferred.
• Strong interest in electrical systems and industrial applications.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and willingness to work in industrial conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical equipment and control systems.
• Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Perform basic electrical tests and inspections using appropriate tools.
• Ensure all electrical work adheres to safety regulations, codes, and standards.
• Contribute to the upkeep and organization of the electrical workshop and tools.
