Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Industrial Designer at THEURBANATIVE.

As an Industrial Designer, you will be responsible for developing and executing design concepts, creating detailed product specifications, and overseeing material selection, prototyping, and product development processes, including product costing.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design objectives are met and products are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in industrial design, preferably in furniture or home décor industries.
  • Skills: High proficiency in Fusion, SolidWorks, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering tools.
  • Strong skills in Industrial and Product Design, sketching, and ideation.
  • Excellent understanding of product development, materials, manufacturing processes, and ergonomics.
  • Ability to translate concepts into contemporary design solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in marketing products via social media and understanding design's impact on brand presence and consumer engagement.
  • Experience in prototyping and design thinking.
  • Strong visual and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
  • Concept Development: Generate creative design concepts reflecting THEURBANATIVE's brand ethos and cultural heritage.
  • Sketching and Rendering: Create detailed sketches, 3D models, and renderings to visualize and communicate designs.
  • Prototyping: Develop prototypes to test and refine designs for functionality and aesthetics.
  • Material and Process Research: Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes aligned with sustainability goals.
  • Collaboration: Work with designers, engineers, artisans, and manufacturers to realize designs.
  • Costing: Develop cost estimates considering materials, manufacturing, labor, and expenses for commercial viability.
  • Technical Drawings: Produce detailed technical specifications for manufacturing.
  • Market and Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to inform design decisions.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects ensuring timely delivery within budgets.
