Job summary

The Department of Health is recruiting Ultrasound Radiographers (Grade 1-3) in Gauteng. Duties include preparing patients and performing high-quality ultrasound examinations across obstetric, abdominal and general areas.

Registration with HPCSA as an independent radiographer is required, with experience and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Salary is paid per hour with Grade 1: R337, Grade 2: R359, Grade 3: R464.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
• HPCSA registration as independent Ultrasound Radiographer/Sonographer (current).
• Experience in obstetric, abdominal, general ultrasound examinations.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and perform ultrasound examinations to yield high-quality diagnostic information.
• Operate ultrasound machine to view and interpret images for diagnosis.
• Coordinate daily workload and emergency examinations using the booking system.
