Purpose Of the Position
A high-calibre Inbound and Outbound Logistics Manager to oversee the end-to-end movement of high-value cargo in our precious metals supply chain. The role is central to the secure, compliant, and timely movement of goods both domestically and internationally.

Summary Of Key Responsibilities Included but Not Limited To
- Provide our customers outstanding service by identifying their needs, supply sufficient correct information, eliminate and reduce errors, improve current arrangements. Source new customers. Evaluate suppliers & customers.
- Maximise revenue by arranging transport for RRL customers and to investigate cheaper options for the company and its customers (old & new).
- Development of a cost effective inbound and outbound logistics strategy
- Compile draft contracts for the logistics department to ensure that liability/risk is reduced for the company and customers.
- To identify new opportunities in the market for the company and increase sales and revenue.
- Assist with coordinating the daily management and coordination of vault operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching valuable cargo
- Identify, manage and complete logistic projects.
- Ensure all import and export shipments are processed according to the company's standards and international regulations
- Conduct routine audits and inventories of valuable cargo to ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Ensure compliance with all local and international trade regulations, including the South African Revenue Service (SARS), International Air Transport Association (IATA), and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, SACAA, ACSA)
- Manage all inbound shipments (e.g. gold doré imports via OR Tambo and Durban port) and outbound exports (e.g. bullion to international banks, PGMs for mines).
- Supervise air, sea, and road freight operations, including customs clearance, bonded storage, and secure transport to/from the refinery.
- Maintain compliance with RA/KC/IATA and all border control requirements (SARS, SAPS, Customs).
- Coordinate with service providers (freight forwarders, charter operators, secure transport firms).
- Ensure full chain-of-custody and traceability, aligned to LBMA Responsible Gold and Silver standards.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (risk, production, finance, sales) and external clients.
Minimum Requirements
- Completed Matric qualification.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-10 years' experience in logistics, (airfreight, road and or sea freight).
- Strategy development qualification an added advantage
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 6+ years in logistics or supply chain, ideally in mining, precious metals, security logistics, or high-value goods.
- Strong knowledge of airfreight, sea freight, charter services, and customs processes.
- Must have worked with bonded goods, export documentation, and logistics compliance.
- Tech-savvy with experience in logistics tracking systems, ERP platforms, or customs portals.
- Proven ability to lead small, agile teams and work cross-functionally under pressure.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills and commercial understanding
