Job description

Duration: Immediate until 28th of February 2025

Reporting to: Programme Manager

Organisational Background

Centre for Community Impact (CCI) is a non-profit South African organisation based in Pretoria. We aim to be a centre of excellence in strategic health and development communication programs that are centred around meaningful Community Engagement.

Reporting Relationships

The In-School Manager reports to AYP Programme Manager. The position supervises in-school based teams.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and reporting of the in-school AYP program in the Subdistrict to achieve results against set objectives.
  • Oversee overall mapping of schools and supportive services.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders i.e. government departments, schools, community leadership and all other relevant stakeholders.
  • Advocate for the implementation of the in-school AYP program activities with the various school management teams (i.e. SMTs, DMTs, SGBs) as well as district and local leadership forums.
  • Ensure the in-school AYP program supports and is aligned with the new DBE HIV/TB/STI Policy, Integrated School Health Policy (ISHP) and other relevant government policies.
  • Work with the AYP program strategic information (SI) team to ensure all program related data is collected, validated, reported and utilised accurately and timeously to inform and guide evidence-based program planning and implementation.
  • Work with the AYP program SI team to ensure that the in-school AYP program staff have the necessary capacity to use biometric data management system as applicable.
  • Assess and identify capacity needs of in-school AYP program staff and provide capacity building, mentoring, coaching and supportive supervision as appropriate.
  • Actively participate in on-site data verification and routine data quality assessment (DQA).
Qualifications
  • An appropriate 4-year Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Social Science or equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA.
  • Current registration with the relevant regulatory body/authority.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management/supervisory role.
  • Good writing skills that will enable the incumbent to compile reports.
  • Knowledge and experience of the education and development sector.
  • Able to engage with high-level Departmental officials.
  • Previous experience within adolescents & youth programs.
  • Sufficient knowledge of Department of Basic Education Policies.
  • Recognizable experience working with various stakeholders and participating in multi-stakeholder forums.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Financial management skills.
  • Performance management and monitoring skills.
  • High-level planning and problem-solving skills. Must be dynamic, innovative, and self-motivated.
