Resident Manager – Luxury Safari Lodge
Limpopo, South Africa
(Live-in position, offering a competitive salary and accommodation on-site.)

A luxury safari lodge in Limpopo is seeking an experienced and hands-on Resident Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the lodge.

This role requires a hospitality professional with a strong background in luxury lodges or safari operations, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering world-class guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the lodge, ensuring smooth and efficient service across all departments.
  2. Lead and support the front office, housekeeping, F&B, maintenance, and guiding teams to maintain high service standards.
  3. Ensure an exceptional guest experience by maintaining a warm, welcoming, and professional environment.
  4. Handle guest relations, including check-ins, special requests, and ensuring all needs are met.
  5. Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to enhance overall performance and guest satisfaction.
  6. Oversee stock control, procurement, and supplier relations to ensure cost-effective operations.
  7. Work closely with the Head Chef and F&B team to ensure an outstanding culinary experience.
  8. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  9. Monitor financial performance, including budget management, cost control, and revenue generation.
  10. Assist in marketing efforts, including guest retention strategies, promotions, and partnerships.

Requirements & Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 4+ years' experience in lodge management, hospitality operations, or a similar role in a luxury safari lodge.
  2. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a hands-on approach to operations.
  3. Excellent guest relations and customer service abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  4. Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, stock, and procurement.
  5. Ability to work remotely and independently, adapting to a dynamic lodge environment.
  6. Knowledge of hospitality software and reservation systems is an advantage.
  7. Passion for wildlife, conservation, and sustainable tourism.
  8. Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
