About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive In-House Counsel with expertise in Compliance to join their legal department in Stellenbosch . This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's compliance programs to ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will work across various departments, providing guidance on compliance matters and fostering a culture of ethical conduct and regulatory adherence. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's comprehensive compliance program.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits across all business units.
• Advise on regulatory requirements related to data privacy, anti-corruption, and industry-specific regulations.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees at all levels.
• Stay updated on evolving regulatory landscapes and best practices in corporate compliance.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 6 years of experience, with a strong focus on corporate compliance.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks and policies.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant South African legislation, including POPIA, Companies Act, and King IV.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across the organization.
• Experience in managing regulatory investigations and reporting is highly desirable.
