About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding technology solutions provider, is seeking a sharp and proactive In-House Counsel with a focus on Commercial Contracts . This role, based in Benoni, Gauteng , will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide array of commercial agreements, including software licenses, service level agreements, partnership agreements, and procurement contracts. You will play a vital role in supporting the company's business objectives by providing practical legal advice and mitigating risks. Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, vendor contracts, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Advise business teams on contractual rights and obligations, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure company contracts are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
• Manage contract lifecycle from drafting to execution and renewal.
• Support the sales and procurement teams with contract-related queries and negotiations.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and playbooks.
• Assist with intellectual property matters and data privacy compliance.
• Conduct legal research on relevant commercial and technology law issues.
• Liaise with external counsel when specialized expertise is required.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
• Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in commercial contract law, ideally with experience in the technology sector.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
• Understanding of IT law, data privacy, and intellectual property principles.
