Job description

We are seeking a motivated and organized Imports & Logistics Officer to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you'll play a vital role in facilitating the seamless import of goods, ensuring they arrive at our door on time and within budget.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Ensure, maintain and enhance current company supply chain processes and systems
  2. Monitor shipments and coordinate with customs, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely arrival of goods
  3. Ensure ethical compliance with local and international trade regulations
  4. Monitor and report changes in regulations that may affect shipment of goods
  5. Prepare, review, and submit documents related to import and export activities
  6. Work with vendors, customers, and other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods
  7. Negotiate with vendors and carriers for competitive pricing and services
  8. Respond to customer inquiries related to import and export activities
  9. Maintain good relationships with suppliers and renegotiate prices on a regular basis
  10. Maintain contracts with vendors
  11. Weekly and monthly reporting and statistics
Desired Experience & Qualification
  1. Diploma / Degree in Logistics Management will be a plus
  2. Must have a valid South African passport
  3. 3-5 years working experience preferably in imports and / or exports
  4. Good understanding of warehousing, import / export procedures and distribution processes and documents
  5. Energetic and proactive individual with strong interpersonal, analytical, organisational and time management skills
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft packages, with emphasis on excel (Intermediate / to Advanced level)
  7. Data set analysis, interpretation and good report writing skills
  8. Pleasant personality, driven individual with a "make-it-happen" work ethic
  9. Be able to interact and communicate effectively on all levels
  10. Own vehicle will be a plus
  11. South African Citizenship
