Job description
Import Procurement Clerk – Airport Industria,Cape Town. Do you have extensive experience in sourcing items from international suppliers and a solid understanding of import and export processes?
Located in Airport Industria, our client requires an individual who can cultivate strong relationships with suppliers and clients, manage shipments effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency in German is a significant advantage.
Requirements:
Grade 12, relevant qualification highly advantageous. Minimum 5 years experience in procurement / logistics imports & exports (daily basis). Pastel experience – an advantage. Experience with Letter of Credit payment method – Advantageous. Ability to speak German – Essential. Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint proficient. Must be a team player. Good communication skills. Good problem-solving skills. Must be able to work independently. Work permit, if necessary, must be available. Own transport. Duties and Responsibilities:
Sourcing / procuring various products from local & internationally suppliers. Compiling of quotations for cross trade & import shipments to customers. Liaising with freight forwarders to obtain air / sea / courier quotations. Issuing orders to various international & local suppliers. Expedite and follow up with suppliers to schedule collections. Daily follow up with suppliers on outstanding orders. Arrange & fast track shipments via Courier / Air / Sea. Updating customers on their orders and shipping delivery times. Keeping track of customers account in terms of payments due/ statements. Maintaining good relationships with suppliers and customers. Product calculation.
