Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience with young children and families in early intervention.
• Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early intervention.
• Experience in developmental assessments and creating intervention plans.
• Excellent communication, listening and empathetic counseling skills.
• Ability to establish trust with diverse families.
• Familiarity with social services and early childhood networks in Stellenbosch is advantageous.
• Passion for early childhood development and supporting vulnerable families.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home visits within Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental screenings and assessments for young children to identify delays or concerns.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans in collaboration with families and professionals.
• Provide direct support and guidance to families on strategies to promote child development.
• Facilitate referrals to speech therapy, occupational therapy, and educational support when necessary.
• Conduct home visits and community-based sessions to deliver early intervention services.
• Educate families about child development milestones and parenting strategies.
• Collaborate with preschools, clinics, and other organizations for coordinated early childhood support.
• Maintain accurate confidential client records and document progress.
