Job Description

The IM Enterprise Architect – Integration is responsible for defining and governing the enterprise integration architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational needs, and industry best practices. The role focuses on enterprise-wide integration strategies for enterprise IT and OT environment across cloud and on-premises to achieve targeted business outcomes related to growing revenue, optimizing costs, mitigating risks, and improving sustainability.

The incumbent ensures that integration strategies are scalable, secure, cost-efficient and optimized to support business operations in the mining industry.

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Integration Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and maintain the integration architecture strategy, framework and roadmap including standards, patterns, and best practices for connecting disparate systems, ensuring alignment with business priorities, future scalability and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Builds the EA value proposition: Positioning the EA practice as an internal management consultancy, offering services and skills to support the development and execution of business strategy.
  • Develops and applies minimal viable architectures: Includes a set of standards, reference architecture patterns, principles and guardrails, through the EA governance model.
  • Technology Selection & Standardization: Evaluate and recommend integration solutions that enhance efficiency and innovation.
  • Cloud & On-Premises Strategies: Define and implement strategies for cloud migrations, hybrid environments, and SaaS adoption.
  • Cost optimisation: Analyze integration costs and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure integration solutions comply with cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration with IT & Business Leaders: Work closely with business units, CIO, IM Portfolio & Architecture team, and IT security teams to drive integration modernization efforts.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management: Support digital transformation initiatives by communicating architectural best practices and ensuring business adoption of new technologies.
  • Technical Guidance: Collaborates with infrastructure, application, and data delivery teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to leverage shared technologies, tools and processes that impact speed to value and time to market.
  • Defining and implementing design and development of support standards, and practices to ensure compliance and cohesion between Marketing transformation activities.
  • Responsibility for defining and maintaining best-practice, high value, support artefacts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience ( Desirable)

Certifications

  • Enterprise Architecture Frameworks
  • Valid EB/Code 08 driver’s licence
  • Cloud-related Architecture certifications, IT Governance & Security Certification ( Desirable)

Experience

5-7 Years of experience in

  • Integration Architecture, Cloud Architecture, or Digital Transformation.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in cloud migrations.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure rationalization, modernization, and automation in a large enterprise.
  • Hands-on experience managing technology vendors, contracts, and system integrators.
  • Experience working with regulatory and compliance requirements for data security and privacy
  • Mining industry experience preferred, with a strong understanding of operational and business applications.

Technical knowledge

  • Expertise in API management, middleware platforms, and system integrations.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, data privacy, and security best practices
  • Expertise in cloud computing and cloud-based integration platforms
  • Knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses, data modeling and data mapping techniques
  • Proficiency in DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in message queuing, streaming, event-driven architectures and various integration technologies (e.g., APIs, SOAP, REST, JMS, ETL tools)
