Job description

iKhaya Safari Lodge,a prestigious and well-established 4-star guest house is seeking a professional, service-oriented Guest Experience Coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time role with flexible hours working Monday to Saturday. The role will be based in Constantia, Southern Suburbs, Cape Town. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable stay, while also supporting the day-to-day operations and business growth of the establishment.

About the Guest House:
Our guest house has 10 rooms and accommodates up to 20 guests and is known for hosting weddings, events, and international travellers, mainly Dutch and German. With future expansion plans underway, we are looking for someone who is committed to growing alongside the business in a long-term capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver an exceptional and personalised guest experience from check-in to check-out
  • Coordinate daily operations, including overseeing 3 housekeepers and 1 gardener
  • Assist in event and wedding preparations as needed
  • Manage and maintain online travel agency (OTA) platforms such as Booking.com and Airbnb
  • Weekly Instagram and Facebook posts
  • Participation in direct booking campaigns
  • Basic content creation and visual uploads to OTA platforms
  • Monitor competitor pricing and maintain up-to-date listings
  • Maximise guest satisfaction and occupancy through effective upselling and guest engagement
  • Coordinate and oversee breakfast service to ensure a high standard of presentation and guest satisfaction
  • Manage and execute weekly social media posts (primarily Facebook)
  • Support digital marketing initiatives and drive direct bookings
  • Perform administrative duties including basic Excel reporting
  • Maintain a cashless environment; assist in implementing systems accordingly

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in hospitality, guest house or estate management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for working with people
  • Professional presentation and the ability to engage confidently with an international clientele
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Afrikaans, Dutch or German is highly advantageous
  • IT literate and social media savvy
  • Experience with Nightsbridge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Own vehicle and a valid driver’s license is essential
  • Must be flexible and available for occasional early mornings or late evening duties (sleepovers may be required occasionally)
  • This is not a live-in role
