Job summary

BDO South Africa is seeking a meticulous professional to prepare high-quality Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in compliance with IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, and GRAP, while providing technical support to engagement teams and ensuring timely delivery of client financial reporting.

The role involves managing CaseWare files, reviewing prior-year statements, obtaining trial balances, mapping new accounts and coordinating note disclosures with audit teams.

Qualifications

• Draft Annual Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, and GRAP.
• Review prior-year AFS and CaseWare files for accuracy.
• Obtain and review Public Interest Score (PIS) working papers.
• Coordinate note disclosures with audit teams and clients.
• Perform spelling, formatting, and quality reviews before submission.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and draft Annual Financial Statements in line with relevant standards.
• Provide technical support to engagement teams on financial reporting queries.
• Collaborate with audit teams to gather disclosures and ensure accuracy of notes.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard client information at all times.
• Follow firm procedures for file management and timely delivery.
