Job summary

Netcare seeks an experienced Clinical Nurse (R/N) for ICU with a focus on delivering holistic, patient-centered care within a multi-disciplinary team. The role involves assessing patients, planning care, and coordinating with physicians and families to ensure high standards of nursing practice.

The incumbent will initiate urgent care when needed and maintain thorough documentation while supporting ongoing professional development and adherence to Netcare policies.

Qualifications

• Registered as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Thorough knowledge of general and specialized nursing theory and practice.
• Experience in ICU settings and critical care delivery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement individualized, holistic nursing care.
• Initiate, direct and maintain emergency treatment as indicated (RESUS).
• Do rounds with physicians to review patient condition and update care plans.
• Prepare day/night shift documentation reflecting patient status and staff ratios.
• Coordinate patient services and communicate with unit manager on activities and problems.
