ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an exceptional Maternity Cover English Teacher (Grade 5 to 7) from 1 June to 1 October.

Resident teachers lead instruction and planning for subject or grade level classrooms and are responsible for driving a rigorous, enquiry-based learning environment. They are supported by Deans of Instruction who partner with them in their growth journey by observing lessons, providing feedback and coaching.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

1. Design rigorous, enquiry-based lesson plans.
2. Prepare students for English Checkpoint exams.
3. Deliver impactful and engaging enquiry-based lessons supported by technology.
4. Observe, coach and model teaching for new teachers.
5. Infuse joy and passion for learning into lessons.
6. Set and communicate ambitious goals for all students and provide feedback.
7. Conduct ongoing assessment of student progress and adjust instructional content accordingly.
8. Attend weekly feedback meetings with Deans and learning designers.
9. Participate in professional growth opportunities.
10. Communicate regularly with parents through various channels.
11. Contribute to co-curricular programming for at least one activity per term.
12. Participate in collaborative teams and fulfill supervision duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU

A Bachelor's Degree with English as Major and a PGCE is required. SACE registered. 2 – 3 years of teaching experience. Ability to lead a classroom independently. Passion for student success. Understanding of enquiry-based, student-centered learning. Ability to connect with the specific age group you teach. Team player with problem-solving skills. Adept at using technology for instruction.

Additional Requirements:

1. Valid Police Clearance (no older than 6 months).
2. ID Copy / Passport.
3. Work Permit (if applicable).
4. SACE certificate.
