Placements24 is seeking a diligent Facilities Hygiene Coordinator for the Bloemfontein Convention Centre. The role focuses on maintaining high cleanliness standards, implementing sanitation protocols, and ensuring a safe environment for delegates, visitors, and staff during events.

Responsibilities include supervising cleaning teams, managing supplies, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in public venues across the venue.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hygiene, sanitation, or facilities maintenance role.
• Proven experience in supervising cleaning or janitorial staff.
• Solid understanding of cleaning chemicals, sanitation best practices, and infection control principles.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to public spaces.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Basic computer literacy for record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor hygiene and sanitation plans for all areas of the Bloemfontein Convention Centre.
• Supervise and direct the daily activities of the cleaning staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, identifying and addressing any hygiene concerns or potential risks.
• Manage the inventory and distribution of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock and responsible usage.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations relevant to public venues in South Africa.
• Assist in training cleaning staff on proper hygiene techniques, use of equipment, and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless cleaning operations during events and conferences.
• Maintain records of cleaning activities, inspections, staff performance, and supply usage.
• Respond to immediate hygiene issues and emergencies as they arise within the Bloemfontein venue.
