To supplement the skillset and offering of the existing SLR Africa Water and Wastewater Engineering team based in Fourways.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc / BES Honours degree in hydrology (MSc degree will be added advantage)
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience in hydrological studies in the consulting sector.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, QGIS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD.
  • Experience in flood risk studies and flood extent modelling.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct water quantity / quality sampling and monitoring as part of baseline assessment.
  • Conduct field work including site reconnaissance / audit, locally and internationally.
  • Conduct flood line modelling and hydrological assessments through the use of HEC-RAS and other hydrology software.
  • Undertake flood extent and dam breach studies.
  • Undertake surface water impact assessment studies.
  • Draft technical reports.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Carry out business development and marketing activities.
  • Project managing and administrating projects.
