We are seeking a Hydraulic Design Engineer for a well-established original equipment manufacturing company specializing in the design and construction of Mobile Industrial Machinery for the mining industry.

The ideal candidate must be skilled in SolidWorks design and capable of handling complex industrial and mobile hydraulic designs.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering degree (BEng, BSc, or BTech)
• 2-5 years of solid design experience in hydraulics

Location: Johannesburg South

Duties & Responsibilities

This role offers a broad scope of engineering tasks, from conceptual design to machine commissioning. Key responsibilities include:

• Design and review of hydraulic systems and machines against customer specifications and industry standards
• Updating existing hydraulic designs and creating new one-off machines
• Producing calculations and detailed design documents
• Collaborating with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers for integrated machine development
• Creating Bills of Materials and liaising with purchasing and production teams
• Participating in assembly, commissioning, and testing of new machines

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in hydraulics design
• Good understanding of hydraulics for mobile and industrial applications
• Proven 3D skills in SolidWorks
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• High ethical standards
