Placements24 in Durban is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support purchasing activities from requisition to payment and maintain an efficient supply chain. You will work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure cost-effective procurement and timely delivery of goods and services.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in a related field, 3+ years’ experience, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, sourcing strategies and contract principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to different stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office applications.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to budget and quality standards.
• Source and identify new suppliers, evaluating capabilities, reliability, and pricing structures.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers for goods and services, aiming for optimal value and service delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance and proactively address any issues related to delivery, quality, or cost.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
