Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Pediatric Development Consultant for a distinguished early learning center in Centurion, Gauteng. The role combines on-site assessments with remote planning within a hybrid model, focusing on identifying developmental needs and implementing best practices to support children aged 0-6.

You will develop IDPs, train educators and parents, monitor progress, and collaborate with specialists to ensure high-quality care and education across the centre.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in psychology or a related field.
• 7+ years of pediatric development, assessment and intervention.
• Knowledge of milestones and learning theories.
• Experience conducting developmental assessments.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience in educational/childcare settings beneficial.
• Willingness to travel to Centurion facility

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive developmental assessments for children aged 0-6 years.
• Develop individualized development plans (IDPs) from assessment findings.
• Provide consultation and training to educators and parents on child development strategies.
• Identify developmental delays and recommend interventions.
• Collaborate with external specialists and therapists as needed.
• Monitor progress and effectiveness of interventions.
• Deliver workshops and training sessions for staff and parents.
• Stay current with research and best practices in pediatric development.
• Document assessments, consultations, and recommendations accurately.
• Contribute to strategic planning of developmental programs.
