Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (PTY) Ltd is seeking a part-time Payroll Officer to manage monthly payroll, ensure compliance with South African payroll legislation and confidentiality. The role combines office attendance in Benoni with a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of payroll processing experience, strong PAYE/ UIF/ SDL knowledge, and proficiency with Sage or PaySpace. SARS eFiling familiarity is required.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate required.
• Payroll, bookkeeping or accounting qualification advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years' payroll processing experience.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201, EMP501 and IRP5 processes.
• Experience with SARS eFiling and EasyFile Employer.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll accurately and within deadlines.
• Maintain employee payroll records and deductions.
• Manage appointments, resignations, terminations and salary amendments.
• Prepare and reconcile EMP201/EMP501 declarations and IRP5 submissions.
