Job summary

Marsh in Sandton seeks a Mining Lead to drive value for mining clients across Africa through risk-informed consulting and engineering services. You will lead high-value engagements, translate technical findings into business recommendations, and mentor a multidisciplinary team to meet revenue and NOI targets.

The role requires a strong mining engineering background with at least 10 years’ experience, and a strategic, client-facing mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 10 years in mining engineering with operational/technical experience.
• Proven track record in consulting, project delivery or leadership on large-scale mining operations.
• Postgraduate business qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-value consulting engagements for mining clients focused on risk-informed, strategic solutions.
• Design survey and consulting scopes that articulate client value and margin optimization.
• Translate findings into actionable commercial recommendations for clients and brokers.
• Develop and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants; manage revenue and NOI targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Marsh's global mining community on projects.
