Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Mine Surveyor to join the team near Klerksdorp, operating on a hybrid model. The role covers mapping mine boundaries, monitoring excavations, and ensuring compliance with spatial regulations, involving both field surveys and office data processing.

You will collaborate with mine planning and operations to produce survey plans, DTMs, and cross-sections, while adhering to mining standards and legislation.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor.
• Proficiency with surveying instruments and software (e.g., Trimble, AutoCAD, LSS).
• Knowledge of mining legislation and survey standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic and underground surveys using total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks within the mine site.
• Monitor and record excavation progress, volumes, and stope dimensions.
• Prepare survey plans, cross-sections, and digital terrain models.
• Ensure adherence to legal survey requirements and mine plan specifications.
