Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Energy Efficiency Consultant to join our client in Upington, Northern Cape, on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on auditing energy use across commercial, industrial and residential buildings and delivering cost-effective improvement plans.

You will analyze consumption data, model potential savings with eQUEST or EnergyPlus, prepare comprehensive reports, and guide clients through incentives and implementation while coordinating with site teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in energy auditing, building performance analysis or energy consulting.
• Proficiency in ASHRAE Level I–III audits.
• Strong understanding of building systems and energy performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive energy audits for commercial, industrial and residential facilities.
• Analyze energy data and identify key improvement opportunities.
• Develop detailed recommendations for energy-saving measures (HVAC, lighting, insulation, controls).
• Prepare energy audit reports with findings, actions, savings and payback periods.
• Evaluate feasibility and cost-effectiveness of proposed projects.
• Advise clients on incentives, rebates and financing for energy upgrades.
• Stay updated on energy-efficient technologies and codes.
• Collaborate with owners, facilities managers and contractors to implement solutions.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to verify savings.
