Entelect in South Africa seeks an Intermediate Data Solutions Engineer to join a dynamic data-driven delivery team. You will wrangle data from multiple sources, design robust data pipelines, and collaborate with architects to deploy cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem solutions while advancing analytics and AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a data solutions engineer in an enterprise environment.
• Proficiency in software engineering fundamentals and commitment to clean code and best practices.
• Experience in a delivery team with other disciplines to deliver a product.
• Strong ability to model and analyse data.
• Solid understanding of data engineering methodologies.
• Good understanding of visualisation best practices.
• Interest in modern analytics and data solutions like Lakehouse, data mesh, and data fabric.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with a drive for continual improvement.
• Hybrid working model – office 2–3 days per week.
• Strong customer-facing ability.

Responsibilities

• Wrangling data from multiple sources into a reliable, evolving data asset.
• Collaborating with Solution Architects to design and implement cloud, hybrid, and on-prem solutions.
• Designing and implementing data engineering pipelines and, where possible, advanced analytics using AI/ML.
• Working across descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive, and cognitive analytics.
• Understanding DataOps and MLOps to ensure continuous deployment with high quality.
• Maintaining data lineage and metadata effectively.
• Using technical and data analytics expertise to improve business innovations.
• Demonstrating maturity, time management, and motivation in the workplace.
