Job summary

AES Global is seeking a Data Scientist (Supply Chain Modeller) to apply data analysis, modelling and simulation to complex supply‑chain problems and support smarter decisions for a digital supply chain.

Based in Cape Town with hybrid client‑site work, you will identify optimisation opportunities, define problem statements, build network models and what‑if simulations, and communicate insights to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Degree in Operations Research, Mathematical Science, Engineering or similar.
• 3 years’ experience in data analysis, data science or network modelling.
• Experience in supply-chain, logistics, retail and project environment.
• Experience in mathematical model development and business requirement specifications.

Responsibilities

• Identify supply-chain optimisation opportunities with measurable value.
• Define problem statements and lead data analysis and solution design.
• Build, maintain and run supply-chain network models and what-if simulations.
• Collaborate with data and software teams to deploy scalable solutions.
• Communicate analytical findings through data visualisation.
