Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Community Development Manager to lead a portfolio of programs in Rustenburg, North West. The role blends remote flexibility with on-site community engagement and requires strategic planning and strong stakeholder collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in community development, team leadership, and delivering social impact initiatives within South Africa. Hybrid work and regional travel are involved.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in relevant field required.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Strong experience in community development or social impact programs.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
• Experience with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic plans for community development programs aligned with organizational goals.
• Manage full lifecycle of projects from conception to evaluation.
• Build relationships with community leaders, NGOs, and government partners.
• Oversee budgets with responsible allocation and accountability.
• Lead and mentor a small team of program officers and liaisons.
• Monitor impact and prepare reports for senior management and donors.
• Identify funding opportunities and assist with grant writing.
• Facilitate community consultations and participatory planning.

Education

Master's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or related field
