Placements24 in Nelspruit is seeking an experienced Communications and PR Manager to lead public relations and corporate communications. The role requires strategic thinking to protect and enhance brand reputation and to steer media relations and stakeholder engagement.

You will develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies aligned to business objectives, manage internal comms, crises, and content across press, website, social media, and newsletters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years in communications and PR with proven management experience.
• Proven success in developing and executing strategic PR and communication campaigns.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong storytelling and presentation abilities.
• Experience in managing media relations within Mpumalanga region and nationally.
• Proficiency in crisis communications and reputation management.
• Strong understanding of internal communications and employee engagement strategies.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools and digital communication platforms.
• Effective leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
• Comfort working in a hybrid model based in Nelspruit.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic communications and public relations plans.
• Manage all aspects of media relations, including press releases, media inquiries, and spokesperson duties.
• Oversee internal communications to ensure alignment and engagement among employees.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media, industry bodies, and community representatives.
• Monitor media coverage, analyze campaign effectiveness, and provide regular reports to senior management.
• Manage the company's brand reputation and proactively address any communication challenges or crises.
• Create compelling content for various communication channels, including press releases, website copy, social media, and newsletters.
• Organize and coordinate press conferences, events, and stakeholder meetings.
• Provide strategic communication advice to leadership and other departments.
