Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Blockchain Architect in Sandton with extensive enterprise IT and blockchain experience. You will design and guide scalable blockchain solutions for enterprise clients, evaluating platforms and defining architectural blueprints.

The role requires deep knowledge of cryptography, consensus, and smart contracts, plus proficiency in Go, Java, or JavaScript, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP). Hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 8+ years of enterprise IT architecture experience, with 5+ years in blockchain.
• Deep knowledge of enterprise blockchain platforms and protocols.
• Experience designing distributed ledger solutions for business use cases.
• Strong cryptography, consensus mechanisms, and smart contracts understanding.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-grade blockchain solutions tailored to client requirements.
• Evaluate and select blockchain platforms (Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, Ethereum private networks).
• Develop technical strategies and roadmaps for blockchain implementations.
• Oversee development, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with analysts, PMs, and clients to define scope and requirements.
• Provide technical leadership to development teams.
• Ensure security, scalability, and performance of deployed solutions.
• Stay current with emerging blockchain technologies and industry trends.
