HVAC Technician (Refrigeration and Ventilation)
Under the management of the HVAC Engineer, duties include:
- Maintaining the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration plants, including compressor units, piping systems, and refrigerated provision rooms.
- Monitoring and supervising the storage temperature of provision storage rooms (chilled and freezer rooms) and refrigerators.
- Performing alarm tests and calibrating thermometers in chilled and freezer rooms.
- Handling and monitoring provision cooling units and refrigerated catering equipment, including recording refrigerant leakages and implementing corrective actions to minimize leaks.
- Maintaining and repairing onboard ice machines, including cleaning and sanitizing.
- Maintaining and repairing refrigeration components of beverage dispensing systems.
- Conducting inventory checks of spares and consumables.
- Performing assigned duties independently.
- Assisting with safety duties as directed by the HVAC Engineer and senior management.
- Checking data quality in spare parts procurement and ensuring correct delivery.
- Assisting in testing and inspecting equipment as required by GLOBAL-HESS, PMS, USPH, and other relevant bodies and regulations.
- Monitoring and maintaining the operation of the air conditioning system, including supervision of room air quality across all vessel compartments.
- Monitoring operational parameters of HVAC systems.
- Performing planned maintenance and repairs on air conditioning units, ducts, and ventilation fans.
- Ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of fire dampers.
- Inspecting and maintaining engine room ventilation, including daily machinery ventilation checks.
- Maintaining and regulating fan outlets in cabins.
- Managing the maintenance and procurement systems effectively.
- Recording and controlling department records and logbooks.
- Checking data quality in spare parts procurement and delivery.
- Assisting with tests and inspections required by relevant regulations.
- Supporting health and safety initiatives onboard, adhering to HESS regulations and protocols, and reporting violations.
