Our client, in the Engineering Industry based in Port Elizabeth, is currently seeking an HVAC Draughtsman.

Job Overview:

The role involves developing and detailing HVAC systems, including ducting, piping, and electrical services. Responsibilities include creating drawings for manufacturing and installation, with a focus on accuracy and a good understanding of mechanical building services.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience, with proficiency in Revit.
• Grade 12 / Technical equivalent qualification.
• Exposure to building services.
• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (advantageous).
• Experience in the HVAC industry (advantageous).
• Valid Code 08 Driver’s License.
• Clear criminal record and medical fitness, with ongoing health maintenance.
• Flexibility to work long hours when required.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure customer satisfaction as a primary objective.
• Create AutoCAD design drawings.
• Design and draft HVAC systems, including air distribution, duct sizing, refrigerant piping, chilled water piping, and diffuser/grill sizing.
• Manage the drawing office, maintaining up-to-date project drawings and records.
• Produce standard legends and notes for drawings.
• Compile HVAC design data for site monitoring.
• Calculate heat loads and design air conditioning and ventilation systems, including ducting and equipment selection.
