Our client, a well-established organisation in the industrial/manufacturing sector, is seeking to employ a Human Resources Officer to manage HR processes, compliance, recruitment, and industrial relations.

The successful candidate will provide end-to-end HR support and advisory services, ensure fair and compliant workplace practices, and contribute to strategic HR projects.

Based in Kuilsriver, Cape Town

  • 3+ years’ experience in a generalist Human Resources role
  • BCom in Human Resources Management
  • Strong understanding of HR legislation (LRA, BCEA, EE, OHSA, SDL, MIBCO)
  • Industrial Relations experience essential
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, and exits
  • Drive and support talent acquisition strategies with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain and update recruitment trackers, IR reports and probation review schedules
  • Act as first-line advisor for disciplinary and grievance matters
  • Schedule and support disciplinary and appeal hearings
  • Guide managers on performance management and absenteeism processes
  • Educate and train management on HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure personnel files and all HR records comply with statutory requirements
  • Deliver monthly reports and assist with data-driven decision making
  • Support the rollout of HR projects and initiatives, offering training and guidance

Educational and Other Requirements:

  • BCom in Human Resources or similar
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and compliance frameworks
  • Strong IR capability and ability to provide sound, fair guidance to management and staff
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Confident in resolving conflict and managing sensitive issues
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask and manage projects to deadlines
  • Willing to work overtime and under pressure where needed
