Job Description

The successful incumbent will be required to provide front line HR services relating to the joiner-mover-leaver processes to the Western Cape/Lesotho Region, and execute allocated project tasks and ad-hoc assistance with the resolution of employee issues in line with relevant legislation and company policies.

Qualification Requirements
  • HR Diploma or Degree - Essential
Experience Requirements
  • HR Officer role (2-3 years) - Essential
  • Work experience in a unionized environment - Essential
  • People management information systems (e.g., Sage People, VIP, or SAP) - Essential
  • Work experience in a continuous operations matrix organization - Desirable
  • Exposure to change / continuous improvement initiatives in the business - Desirable
Key Outputs
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective recruitment and selection services to ensure the organization is staffed with qualified, skilled, motivated, and informed employees.
  • Advise line management and staff on employee relations issues, implement disciplinary and grievance resolution processes, and assist with consultation processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company policy, and the Premier Way.
  • Provide HR administration with relevant employee documentation or information to ensure accurate management information on HRIS and for payroll processing.
  • Ensure high-quality HR service delivery and execution as per HR SLA standards through:
    • Enablement, guidance, advice, and ad-hoc auditing of workplace processes and practices.
    • Implementation of corrective actions with relevant managers.
    • Escalation of risks/issues to relevant managers.
  • Coordinate administrative and consultation processes for the employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit.
  • Support the Regional HR Manager in implementing HR projects successfully.
  • Promote a high-performance culture on-site and within HR by:
    • Identifying people performance and culture risks/trends through observation and reporting issues raised in Invocoms and workplace forums.
    • Developing and implementing individual development plans (IDPs) and goals.
    • Reporting opportunities for improvement to relevant HR/OD process owners.
