Job description

Kerston Foods, a well-established Food Services company, is looking to fill the following position:

Human Resources Manager – Contract Position – Maternity Cover

Late-January 2024 – Late July 2024

To take responsibility for all HR support, services, and related duties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas (KPAs) that constitute the full HR function within the company:

  1. Recruitment / Selection / Placement Services (job specs, recruitment sources, screening processes, and final decision support)
  2. Induction, Onboarding & Probation Management Support Services (processes of induction and onboarding, and subsequent probation management support)
  3. Employment, Payroll & Related Administration Services (assist in the preparation of the monthly payroll, ensure system and data compliance, and related administrative duties)
  4. Staff & Industrial Relations (manage relationships, ensure statutory compliance, and support development processes)
  5. Policies & Procedures Support Services (maintain HR policies and coordinate shared files)
  6. Performance Management Facilitation (coordinate development and refinement of performance practices)
  7. HR Analysis, Reports, and Advice (provide meaningful information and evaluations for decision making)
  8. Administrative Services (coordinate meetings, support committees, update forms, and assist shared services)
  9. Development Support Services (facilitate development needs analysis and support)
  10. Annual HR Plans & Schedules (develop plans based on HR analysis)
  11. Organisation Development (structure, job descriptions, and related guidance)
  12. Projects Coordination (coordinate HR projects for consistency)

The ideal candidate should be proactive, energetic, resilient under pressure, and self-motivated to achieve high standards of professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • A 3-year formal Human Resources or related qualification
  • Advanced computer literacy, especially MS Office and Excel
  • Thorough knowledge of the BCEA
  • Working knowledge of labour legislation
  • Minimum 5 years' HR experience, including 2 years in a comprehensive HR role
