Job description

Motsoeneng Bill Attorneys Incorporated (MBA Inc.), a leading boutique law firm located in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban is looking for a Human Resources Managerto join our team.

POSITION INFO :

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :

Strategic Management

  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement the HR strategy.
  • Manage the HR budget.
  • Provide regular reporting on strategy execution and progress.

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

  • End-to-end management of the recruitment process.
  • Draft and publish job advertisements across various platforms.
  • Review and screen CVs.
  • Conduct interviews (virtual and in-person).
  • Coordinate and administer technical assessments.
  • Headhunt and actively source talent as needed.

Employment Lifecycle Management

  • Draft and negotiate offer letters and employment contracts.
  • Oversee onboarding and induction processes for new employees.
  • Manage the offboarding process and conduct exit interviews.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files.

Performance & Development

  • Facilitate performance check-ins and reviews.
  • Support development planning and coaching conversations.
  • Write job descriptions and define KPIs for all roles.

HR Operations & Administration

  • Address day-to-day HR queries from employees.
  • Manage employee leave records.
  • Coordinate internal events (birthdays, anniversaries, team buildings, year-end functions).
  • Administer wellness and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Drive HR innovation and introduce relevant HR technologies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of employee activities (e.g., training, grievances, disciplinary action, performance evaluations).

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Manage grievance and disciplinary processes.
  • Oversee Industrial Relations matters.
  • Ensure HR compliance with applicable labour laws and regulations.

Meetings & Communication

  • Coordinate and manage monthly team meetings (prepare agendas, draft minutes).
  • Participate in designing and implementing employee retention strategies.
  • Propose HR solutions aligned with broader business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience :

  • Degree or National Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar HR Manager role.
  • Previous experience within a legal or professional services environment will be advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organisational ability
  • Proven time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate effectively.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR-related systems.
