We are seeking a skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with our overall organizational strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, a passion for fostering a positive working environment, and the ability to bridge management and employee relations effectively.
What You’ll Do:
- HR Strategy Development:
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategy.
Ensure that HR practices support the organization's goals and objectives. - Recruitment and Selection:
Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviews.
Ensure a diverse and inclusive hiring process that attracts top talent. - HR Systems and Procedures:
Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
Ensure that HR policies and procedures are up-to-date and effectively communicated to all employees. - Positive Working Environment:
Nurturing a positive working environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and well-being.
Implement and maintain employee wellness programs and initiatives. - Performance Management:
Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
Provide feedback and coaching to employees to help them achieve their full potential. - Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Collaboration:
Oversee the HR component of payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing in collaboration with payroll system.
Ensure compliance with statutory benefits (UIF, COIDA, Retirement Funds, etc.). - Training and Development:
Assess training needs and apply and monitor training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, alongside managers.
Ensure that training programs are effective and aligned with organizational goals. - HR Metrics and Reporting:
Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics and analytics.
Analyze HR data to identify trends and areas for improvement. - Legal Compliance:
Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management with South African labor laws.
Stay informed about changes in employment laws and regulations and ensure that the organization adheres to them.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in human resources, preferably with a focus on strategic HR management.
- Strong leadership and management skills.

- Proficiency in HR information systems and data analysis.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Psychology, or a social sciences / management discipline equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience with at least 2 years in an HR management role.
- In-depth knowledge of labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS like Zoho, Sage, or SAP.
- Experience in importing and distribution is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of MS Office/Excel/PowerPoint.
Base Salary Range:
YS Distributors’ compensation package includes market competitive salary and great benefits. Our expected monthly salary range for this role is [R30,000 to R35,000]. Final offers may vary within the range provided based on experience, expertise, and other factors.
