Job summary

A manufacturing company in Pinetown, Durban seeks an experienced HR Manager to lead HR strategy and operational compliance. Overview

Lexdan Select is assisting a manufacturing company with their search for an HR Manager.

This role is based in Pinetown, Durban.

Salary: R36 000 p.m. to R50 000 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an active member of the Exco, contributing to organizational strategy and decision-making.
  • Champion the company culture, values, and integrity across all levels of the business.
  • Advise the CEO and Board on HR, transformation, compliance, and people-related matters.
  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process: advertising, sourcing, interviewing, referencing, and background checks, and onboarding/induction.
  • Ensure full compliance with South African labour laws, including MIBCO regulations and Workmen’s Compensation.
  • Ensure a positive work environment through proactive employee relations, address grievances, mediate disputes, and manage disciplinary processes.
  • Oversee Employment Equity and BBBEE compliance, ensuring diversity and inclusion goals are achieved.
  • Ensure accurate payroll administration, compliance with statutory requirements, oversee time and attendance management, leave processing, and UIF documentation.
  • Implement engagement strategies including surveys, recognition programs, and team-building activities.
  • Develop and implement training and development programs aligned with business needs.
  • Manage learnerships, internships, and upskilling opportunities in line with BBBEE and EE goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business, or related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
  • Minimum 7–10 years’ HR management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership/Exco role.
  • Proven track record in industrial relations, transformation, and compliance.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/automotive or similar environment advantageous.
