Job description

The Human Resources Generalist position is responsible for aligning strategic objectives with employees and management in designated business units.

This role will own the recruitment process, new starter administration, onboarding, employee relations, and work closely with the country manager.

You will serve as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues and act as a first line of support for staff and managers across South Africa, including retail stores.

This position will also assist the Customer Service Department with inland and coastal sales support, managerial office duties such as answering phone lines, coordinating onsite events, and supporting staff and customers on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage monthly payroll, including updating commissions, overtime, leave, and bonuses.
  2. Be the first point of contact for all head office and retail employees for HR-related queries and support in areas such as labor laws, Medical Aid, UIF, PAYE, Retirement Annuity, and Group Health Risk.
  3. Own the recruitment lifecycle, including creating job requisitions on Workday, sourcing candidates, coordinating interviews, and delivering offers.
  4. Manage, maintain, and update employee information on Workday.
  5. Conduct onboarding and offboarding of employees, including data uploading, orientation, and equipment assignment.
  6. Assist employees with pay slips and leave queries.
  7. Manage the monthly leave planner and leave report.
  8. Coordinate organizational events like birthdays, anniversaries, and group activities.
  9. Maintain the office workspace and coordinate with external suppliers for office-related tasks.
  10. Support the marketing department with company events.
  11. Serve as the main contact for internal and external inquiries.
  12. Answer office landline calls and transfer to relevant departments.
  13. Support Territory Managers with dealer orders on JD Edwards.
  14. Assist with marketing initiatives in collaboration with the marketing department.
