Job description

Description: One of Southern Africa’s largest retailers is looking to appoint an experienced Human Resources Controller to join their team in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Human Resources Management is essential.
  • Human Resources Administration experience required.
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills required.
  • Planning and negotiation skills are also essential.
  • Confidentiality and high integrity are essential.
  • Must be customer focused and able to work in a high stress environment.

Responsibilities and expectations, but not limited to:

  • Facilitate recruitment and selection process from beginning to end.
  • Facilitate all HR processes in the employment cycle, in line with policy and legislation.
  • Generate a job advert and get approval from relevant line manager.
  • Compile letter of appointment, promotions, transfers.
  • Provides IR related information and guidance to line management and employees.
  • Employee benefits administration.
  • Maintain open and regular communication with staff representatives.
  • Assists in sending telegrams to staff after being absent without authorization.
  • Assists in taking minutes and interpreting (or organise one) in disciplinary hearings.
  • Attends to any HR administration issues.
  • Payroll Administration – full function from enrolment of new employees to termination, processing hours, updating leave records, managing monthly payments, garnishee order and downloading reports as per company policy and procedures.
  • Processing salaries on the bank by using the bank import function for +- 12 Retail Stores.
  • Submit UIF submission file to the Department of Labour.
  • Training – coordinate of e-Learning to all Retail Stores.
  • Coordinate Injury on Duty (IOD).
  • Coordinate long service awards functions.
  • Coordinate annual and minimum wage increases.
  • Draft employee contracts.
  • Coordinate annual discretionary bonus.
  • Put up any HR related notices on the notice board.
  • Monitor accuracy of payroll input against contractual and legal requirements.
