Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Administrator to join our Human Resources team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the HR department, ensuring that HR administrative processes are executed efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and possesses a strong understanding of HR processes and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full administrative support across all HR functions.
  • Maintain and update employee records and personnel files.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Support recruitment: screening CVs, scheduling interviews, conducting references, drafting specs.
  • Verify completeness of new starter documentation.
  • Process provident fund withdrawals and liaise with service providers.
  • Record and process disciplinary and IR-related documentation.
  • Draft confirmation of employment letters.
  • Manage maternity leave documentation (UIF forms, medicals, internal comms).
  • Assist in compiling HR metrics and reports (e.g., absenteeism, turnover).
  • Act as first-line support for HR queries and escalate as needed.
  • Maintain organized, confidential HR filing systems.
  • Support compliance with audits, labour inspections, and statutory reporting.
  • Assist with Employment Equity (EE) tracking, committee coordination, and reporting (EEA2, EEA4).

Requirements:

  • Education: Matric (Grade 12) required. HR Certificate or Diploma (or studying toward one) preferred.
  • Experience: 1–3 years in a similar administrative role, preferably within HR.
  • Technical Skills: Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with South African labour legislation and basic HR processes.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, confidentiality, and time management.
