Job description

Minimum Requirements

- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

- Working knowledge of appointments and compensation processes or similar environment.

- Familiarity with circulars related to human resources management.

- Experience with PERSAL or similar systems.

Key Performance Areas

Administer appointments and payroll matters, including:

  • Appointments of OSD and non-OSD personnel, including interns, apprenticeships, and periodical appointments.
  • Issuance of employment contracts and appointment letters.
  • Record keeping of personnel records.
  • Managing acting allowances.
  • Administering personnel suitability checks.
  • Maintaining electronic databases on appointment information.

Competencies

Understanding of:

  • Relevant national and provincial human resources legislation, including the Public Service Amendment Act, Public Service Regulations, and Labour Relations Act.
  • Data capturing skills.

Skills Needed:

  • Proven computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Remuneration

R - R per annum (Salary Level 5).
