Job description

Role Purpose:

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for creating an enabling environment to drive performance and employee engagement across business areas by partnering with leaders to define and implement relevant People plans.

Provides HR Business Partnering to leadership teams and facilitates the delivery of Vodacom's strategic HR priorities by defining strategies and partnering with business leadership in executing the plans.

The focus includes organization effectiveness, talent management, and building capabilities—bringing the human element to technology while supporting sound business decisions.

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership:

People Planning:

  • Input to the functional people plan aligned with Vodacom/functional strategy.
  • Drive delivery of initiatives supporting Technology strategy.

Organization Effectiveness & Change:

  • Support and deliver change programs and OE activities.
  • Interface with stakeholders to ensure alignment and manage change processes.
  • Contribute to organization reviews and manage HR metrics and budgets.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Telecom industry experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge in change management, organization plans, coaching, problem-solving, decision-making, HR reporting, negotiation, business acumen, labor law, HR policies, and consultation.

Must-have Qualifications:

  • Matric/Grade 12.
  • Ensure clarity and alignment in organization structure and data integrity.
  • Drive organizational efficiency and support managers with HR processes.
  • Lead cultural change and ensure health and safety standards.
  • Manage performance and reward processes, including poor performer management.
  • Collaborate on talent and resourcing strategies, including talent reviews, succession planning, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Support leadership development and organizational capability building.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant 3-year Degree/National Diploma in HR or related fields.
  • 5-8 years' experience as an HR generalist, including 3 years interfacing with senior leadership.
  • Post-graduate qualification is advantageous.
