Job description

The role of the Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for creating an enabling environment to drive performance and employee engagement across business areas by partnering with leaders to define and implement relevant People plans.

Provide HR Business Partnering to leadership teams and facilitate the delivery of Vodacom's strategic HR priorities by defining and deploying appropriate strategies and partnering with business leaders in execution.

The key focus includes, but is not limited to, organization effectiveness, talent management, and building capabilities — bringing the human element to technology while supporting sound business decisions.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

People Planning

  • Contribute to functional people plans aligned with Vodacom/functional strategy.
  • Drive delivery of initiatives supporting the technology strategy.

Organization Effectiveness & Change

  • Support and deliver change programs and OE activities.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment and manage change processes.
  • Participate in organizational reviews.
  • Manage FTE, contractor, and employment Opex targets, including payroll and headcount management.

Core competencies, knowledge, and skills:

  • Experience in the telecom industry is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of change management, organizational planning, coaching, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Analytical skills, HR reporting, interpersonal, negotiating skills, business acumen, labor law, HR policies, planning, and organizing.

Must-have qualifications:

  • Matric/Grade 12.
  • Ensure clarity and alignment in organization structure, data integrity, and efficiency.
  • Drive HR agenda, support managers, and develop change programs.
  • Support cultural change and ensure alignment with company policies and behaviors.
  • Maintain health and safety standards.
  • Manage performance issues and partner on talent development, succession planning, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Participate in leadership development, organizational capability building, and onboarding programs.
  • Relevant degree or diploma in HR or related fields.
  • 5-8 years of HR experience, including interfacing with senior leadership; postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
