SUMMARY : POSITION INFO :

Our client, specializing in supplying a wide range of food and related products to businesses in the catering industries, is seeking a Human Capital Practitioner to join their team.

Location : Western Cape

Job type : Permanent – on site

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Management team and relevant line managers.
  • Ensure application and compliance with Company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Advise Line Management on relevant legislation, company policies, and the impact it bears on conditions of employment.
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection process.
  • Drive recruitment and selection process internally and externally to meet the workforce, equity, and talent requirements of the organization.
  • Ensure the appropriate onboarding and induction process is administered for all new employees.
  • Manage probation periods and ensure appropriate actions are taken regarding the continuation or termination of employees during probation.
  • Manage sound employee relations by advising on and leading the implementation of effective disciplinary, grievance, restructuring, incapacity, and conflict resolution activities.
  • Investigate all referred disciplinary and grievance matters, gather evidence, prepare cases, and support the company in resolving cases.
  • Assist management with implementing succession planning and career development practices.
  • Assist in coordinating time and attendance records for payroll purposes.
  • Drive Employment Equity practices to achieve the organization's employment equity targets.
  • Provide general administrative support such as contract management, letters of transfer, internal applications, letters of promotion, salary reviews, etc.
  • Participate in and/or lead projects where required.
  • Support the implementation of the HR strategy and deliver on HR strategic objectives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • Diploma / Degree in Human Resource Management
  • Computer literate, especially in Excel (Intermediate Excel skills required)
  • Own reliable transport and willingness to use it for business purposes
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • At least 12 months’ experience in a similar role, ideally within a similar industry
