Direct Reports : 5 x HR Manager
Missions :
The Human Capital GM is responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR functions, providing expert guidance on complex processes and compliance issues related to recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, labor and employee relations, compensation, benefits, leave management, and separation. This role will manage a team of 5 HR managers.
The Human Capital GM reports to the MD and HR Divisional Head.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields; equivalent experience also considered.
- Experience in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Logistics environments.
- Minimum of 10 years' progressive HR experience, including 5 years in managerial roles, focusing on labor relations, organizational development, engagement, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, and HRIS.
Work Experience :
- Comprehensive knowledge of all HR functions.
- Understanding of SA laws, industrial relations, and project management.
- Experience working in unionized, bargaining council, and non-union environments.
- Strong ability to build effective relationships with employees and leadership.
- Discretion handling sensitive issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Oversee Talent Acquisition, Employee & Labor Relations, Organizational Development, payroll, and systems.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to address business challenges.
- Provide feedback to senior management for continuous improvement.
- Supervise HR activities, delegate tasks, and ensure policy compliance.
- Review and refine HR processes and systems.
- Ensure timely and accurate HR operations, including hiring, payroll, leave, benefits, and labor relations.
- Promote cross-organizational collaboration to develop scalable solutions.

- Optimize organizational structures and manage change initiatives.

- Develop talent management programs, including onboarding and leadership development.
- Implement learning initiatives, talent assessments, and succession planning.
Performance Management :
- Redesign and implement performance systems.
- Enhance performance through reviews and feedback.
- Align rewards with contributions.
Employee Relations :
- Resolve complex employee issues and manage industrial relations.
- Promote positive workplace culture and engagement.
Digitization Strategy :
- Lead digital HR solutions adoption, including TalentSoft, VIP, and EdApp.
Budget Management :
- Manage HR department budget efficiently.
Employment Equity :
- Implement Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and oversee compliance.
Learning and Development :
- Oversee training programs to address skill gaps and support growth.
Compensation and Benefits :
- Lead compensation structures and benefits programs to attract and retain talent.
