Your mission is to design, build, and embed a modern data quality framework for our entire HC function.

You will have the autonomy to define the processes, set the standards, and shape the future of how FNB manages its most sensitive and strategic data asset: our people data.

What success looks like in your first year

In your first 12 months, you will have made a significant impact by achieving the following:

  • Develop a strategic roadmap: Engage with key HC and business stakeholders to deliver a formal HC Data Quality Roadmap outlining key priorities, initiatives, and success metrics.
  • Create data clarity: Maintain updated data inventory maps for critical HC data assets, ensuring clarity on data location, ownership, and content.
  • Operationalise data governance: Design and implement a formal data quality issue resolution process with clear intake, triage, and escalation paths.
Core Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for HC data quality, definitions, and standards.
  • Define and document key HC metrics and data elements (e.g., Headcount, Attrition, Diversity) in our data catalog.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
  • Develop and monitor data quality rules and dashboards to proactively identify and address inconsistencies.
  • Maintain metadata, data quality rules, Enterprise Data Model (EDM), reference data, and records register.
  • Define information management requirements (e.g., data cleansing, data quality) and drive their implementation.
  • Ensure HC data handling processes comply with policies and data privacy regulations (e.g., POPIA, GDPR).
  • Manage access to sensitive HC data, vetting and approving requests.
  • Provide training and support to promote data literacy and best practices within HC.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience with HC data or systems in a medium-to-large organization.
  • 3-year College diploma (BTech) or university degree in BCom, Informatics, or related fields.
  • Solid understanding of HC data structures, processes, and challenges.
  • Knowledge of HC legislation and data privacy requirements.
  • Proven ability to ensure high-quality, reliable, and auditable HC data.
  • Attention to detail and a track record of resolving data quality issues.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience with HC reporting and analytics tools (Power BI, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to train and explain data processes clearly.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Workday HCM.
  • Involvement in HC digital transformation or data migration projects.
  • Exposure to data privacy impact assessments or HC audits.
