Human Capital Business Partner: Broker Solutions

What will you do?

The Human Capital Division has a permanent position available in Johannesburg. The role involves aligning human capital strategies with overall business objectives, acting as a strategic partner to leadership, and driving business performance through effective people management.

This position reports to the HC Business Partner Lead and will be based at the Santam office in Johannesburg. You will provide HC consultation to assigned business units, facilitating and implementing agreed deliverables aligned with HC and business strategies. Your responsibilities include developing and implementing best practice HC programs, policies, and systems to support organizational leaders and managers.

Key to success in this role

Develop strategic partnerships within assigned portfolios by understanding key challenges and providing HC interventions to help leaders achieve their goals and foster positive workplaces.

Responsibilities include:
  • Strategic alignment with senior leadership and participation in business planning.
  • Shaping HC strategies that drive results using data and analytics.
  • Managing talent acquisition and talent management strategies.
  • Partnering with senior leadership on organizational design and workforce planning.
  • Supporting change management during mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
  • Providing coaching and support to managers on HC issues.
  • Analyzing HC data and trends, providing quarterly feedback and solutions.
  • Developing and implementing diversity and employment equity initiatives.
  • Facilitating performance management processes and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Enhancing organizational effectiveness through assessments and change initiatives.
  • Supporting leadership and employee development programs.
  • Managing employee relations, including policies, disciplinary, and grievance procedures.
  • Facilitating remuneration processes and promoting employee wellbeing.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Psychology, HRM, or related field (NQF 7).
  • Minimum of 7 years HC Generalist experience.
  • Ability to travel as required.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Expertise in recruitment, talent development, performance management, legislation, labor relations, and organizational development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and consulting skills, with the ability to influence.
