Job description

A challenging opportunity exists at Metals Vanderbijlpark for a HC Administrator. The primary objective for this role is to provide a full Human Capital administration service to the Human Capital department and to internal and external customers, acting as a first point of contact for all Human Capital enquiries. This position will be reporting to the HC Manager. This position is graded as a Peromnes 09.

Key responsibilities include:

  • First point of contact for employee payroll queries.
  • Submit payroll input to Group payroll Dept
  • Coordinate 3rd party payments (garnishees, maintenance, medical aid, pension fund, home loans, union contributions, SARS payments.
  • Responsible for medical aid applications, additions, plan changes and withdrawals.
  • Responsible for Retirement fund new applications, processing of online withdrawals for terminations or retirees.
  • Responsible for death claims – processing of claims, dependents and employees.
  • Process leave applications on Kronos.
  • Upload data and report ON overtime to management.
  • Manage leave.
  • Provide all HC related reports to senior management.
  • Coordinate overtime reports for management reporting.
  • Support the HC Officer/HC Manager with the development and implementation of projects as required.
  • Adhere to any other duties as required

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent
  • 2 - 3 Years’ experience in Human Capital administration roles, experience in working with HC packages /databases and collation of data for payroll
  • Strong IT skills, skilled in using MS Word and Excel packages
  • Excellent verbal, written literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative within specified guidelines or processes
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and able to deal with employees at all levels
  • Ability to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information
